The aim of the present study was to determine the relationship between the risk of knee osteoarthritis among the elderly and age, body mass index (BMI), education, depression, physical activity, and gender of the elderly.Materials and Methods: The participants consisted of 220 elderly individuals suffering from knee osteoarthritis and 220 healthy elderly individuals. The subjects were selected using voluntary sampling methods. The data collection tools included a demographic characteristics form and the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) and International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ).Results: The relationship of all variables with the risk of knee osteoarthritis was investigated through logistic regression analysis of a progressive model considering odds ratio (OR) and confidence interval (CI). There was a significant relationship between age and gender and the risk of developing osteoarthritis (P < 0.05); women were more susceptible to knee osteoarthritis than men (P < 0.05). The prevalence of overweight and obesity was higher among the elderly with knee osteoarthritis than the healthy subjects. Level of depression had a significant correlation with the risk of knee osteoarthritis (P < 0.05). A significant association was observed between levels of physical activity and the risk of knee osteoarthritis and the number of inactive elderly individuals in the knee osteoarthritis group was higher than the healthy elderly group. With increase in the level of education, the possibility of developing knee osteoarthritis decreased and those with an education level of lower than diploma had a greater chance of developing knee osteoarthritis (P < 0.05).Conclusion: Gender, obesity, depression, lack of physical activity, weight gain, education of lower than diploma, and lack of insight and knowledge were risk factors for susceptibility to knee osteoarthritis.}, keywords = {Osteoarthritis,Knee,Elderly,Exercise}, title_fa = {بررسی عوامل پیش‌بینی کننده ابتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو در سالمندان با تأکید بر فعالیت بدنی}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: طراحی برنامه‏های پیشگیری از استئوآرتریت زانو، مستلزم شناخت عوامل خطرزای آن است. هدف از انجام پژوهش حاضر، تعیین ارتباط متغیرهای سن، شاخص توده بدنی (Body mass index یا BMI)، تحصیلات، افسردگی، فعالیت بدنی و جنسیت با میزان خطر ابتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو در سالمندان بود.مواد و روش‌ها: 220 سالمند مبتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو و 220 سالمند سالم به روش نمونه‌گیری داوطلبانه انتخاب شدند و با استفاده از پرسش‌نامه‏ جمعیت‌شناختی، مقیاس افسردگی سالمندان (Geriatric Depression Scale یا GDS) و پرسش‌نامه بین‌المللی فعالیت بدنی مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند.یافته‌ها: ارتباط همه متغیر‏ها با میزان خطر ابتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو، با استفاده از آنالیز رگرسیون لجستیک مدل پیش‌رونده و نسبت شانس بررسی شد. بین متغیرهای سن و جنسیت با خطر ابتلا به استئوآرتریت ارتباط معنی‌داری وجود داشت و زنان بیشتر از مردان در معرض خطر ابتلا به آسئوآرتریت بودند (050/0 > P). اضافه وزن و چاقی در سالمندان مبتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو بیشتر از سالمندان سالم مشاهده شد (001/0 > P). سطوح افسردگی ارتباط معنی‌داری را با خطر ابتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو نشان داد (005/0 > P). سطوح فعالیت بدنی با خطر ابتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو ارتباط معنی‌داری داشت و تعداد سالمندان غیر فعال مبتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو بیشتر از سالمندان سالم بود. هرچه سطح تحصیلات افزایش می‌یابد، احتمال ابتلا به استئوآرتریت زانو کمتر می‌شود و افراد با سطح تحصیلات پایین‏تر از دیپلم، شانس بیشتری برای مبتلا شدن به استئوآرتریت زانو داشتند (050/0 > P).نتیجه‎گیری: جنسیت، چاقی، افسردگی، عدم فعالیت بدنی، افزایش وزن، تحصیلات پایین‏تر از دیپلم و عدم بینش و آگاهی، از جمله عوامل خطر برای مستعد کردن افراد جامعه به استئوآرتریت زانو می‌باشد.}, keywords_fa = {استئوآرتریت,زانو,سالمند,فعالیت بدنی}, url = {https://jrrs.mui.ac.ir/article_16988.html}, eprint = {https://jrrs.mui.ac.ir/article_16988_8185440ffee41c4e03623f96e97b6c9e.pdf} }
